Updated: Dec 11, 2023

The beaches on the North Shore of Kauai are like none other in the world. Here are a few of the crowd favorites and a few of our local favorites as well. You can also check out this fun interactive beach map!

Tunnels Beach

Looking to snorkel? Tunnels Beach is your spot. Also know as a favorite for surfing, wind surfing and kite surfing, you can catch some waves or usually watch the locals when the surf's up. Tunnels Beach is easily walkable or a short bike ride from Hale Pulelehu'a. Learn more by clicking here.

Ke'e Beach

Perfect the little ones or vacationers looking for amazing snorkeling, without the waves. Ke'e Beach is located at the "End of the Road" just two short miles from Hale Pulelehu'a. We recommend arriving in the morning to avoid the crowds and find easier parking. Learn more by clicking here.

Hanalei Bay

The main beach in the town of Hanalei, Hanalei Bay is about a 15 minute drive from Hale Pulelehu'a. It's the perfect boogie boarding or soft board surfing spot in the summer, and gets some great surf in the winter months for more experienced surfers. Enjoy breakfast or lunch in town as part of your trip to Hanalei Bay. Learn more by clicking here.

Black Pot Beach

Black Pot Beach is located at the Hanalei Pier and beach park. Enjoy easy parking in the large dirt parking lot, check out the fisherman on the pier, or post up on the large grass lawn along the Hanalei River. In the summer months, this is a great place for young kids to learn to surf and body board.

Pine Trees Beach

Right near the heart of downtown Hanalei, Pine Trees Beach is known for its easy-to-ride summer waves and perfect winter surf. There is a small dirt parking lot located at Pine Trees Beach. In the summer months, make sure to arrive early to get a spot.
